If one more meeting gets dropped onto my calendar for this week, I'm going to start taking away people's system access. Jesus.
Have a Lotus 72 in trade for the rant.

My wife was off today, so I decided to sleep in a little while she got our oldest ready for school and on the bus. I strolled into work at about 8:15, knowing it was Monday, I did not have any meetings today when I left Friday. Low and behold someone set something for me at 8:30, in my office, at about 7:30 that morning. I mentally stumbled through the meeting. Luckily it was a short one.

Ugh, those suck. Didn't have that, but I went from 1 meeting this afternoon that I already knew about to an additional 5 that I didn't, one of which means working late.

Lame. And actually, 99% of meetings are lame, and pointless. Like the one I had this morning. It could have been done over the phone.

Meetings are generally bad. Very, very bad.
"Can I please go do stuff instead of talk about doing stuff? Please?!"

Book some meetings to yourself and put as private. I had to for a while, in order to get anything done.

Even better, "can I please go do stuff instead of listening to other departments talk about their stuff which has very little relation to my stuff?"

I am probably the least feminine person in my group. When there's a clothes/babies/puppies tangent, I just kind of have to nod and smile.

Yep. Home improvement's been a good compromise, there, as long as I don't get too far into the weeds about doing the actual work.
